Zion Piano Student Wins Gold Medal in the TMTA Theory Test

Amelia Willey, student of the Zion Piano Studio in Benbrook, won a gold medal in the 2019 Spring Theory Test organized by the Texas Music Teachers Association. Ms. Willey scored a grade of 99.50 in an examination that covers fundamental concepts in music theory and ear training. The event took place on Saturday, February 02 of 2019 at 9:00 am at Broadway Baptist Church in Fort Worth and the results became available in mid-March. Ms. Willey studied music theory for a year before taking the examination. This award represents the first gold medal of the Zion Piano Studio in the Grade 9 category of the TMTA Theory Test.
A resident of Fort Worth, Amelia Willey is a student of the High Point Academy in White Settlement. She has been taking piano and theory lessons for four years from Dr. Won Yong Lee in the Zion Piano Studio in Benbrook. Ms. Willey has performed in piano recitals in churches and retirement centers in Fort Worth and Benbrook.
The TMTA Theory Test is offered twice every academic year to students in grades 1-12, in affiliation with Texas Music Teachers Association. Students may take these tests on either the Fall or Spring test day, and are required to pass the appropriate grade level in order to participate in specified Student. Affiliate events. The purpose of the Test is to evaluate participants’ musical knowledge of and the ability to apply theory, aural, and musicianship concepts across a broad musical spectrum.
The Zion Piano Studio is a Christ-centered piano academy, founded and directed by Dr. José Pablo Quesada and Dr. Won Yong Lee, with main operations in the city of Benbrook, Texas. We offer private lessons all year around in piano, music theory, and music history. Lessons are combined with performance opportunities for our families and our local community. We support the City of Benbrook through local organizations and our own ministry. We foster Christianity worldwide through our home church, Jews for Jesus, the Assemblies of God World Missions, and other outreach programs.
